Issue Nº 001 · The Daily Breviary

Walk with God, a few minutes
every day.

ORA Daily is a small, quiet Catholic companion. A reflection, a Gospel, a line from the tradition, picked for the day you are actually living, in the language you pray in.

9:41

Sunday · June 7

Be still,
and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

There is a kind of rest that does not come from doing nothing, it comes from being held. Today, the prayer is simply to stop. To let the noise thin out. To listen for the One who is already there.

St. Augustine wrote that our hearts are restless until they rest in You. Even five minutes of honest stillness counts.

Manifesto

ORA is a quiet space for
prayer and reflection.

It is a small, quiet companion that meets you where you are, anxious, grateful, distracted, hopeful, and points you to a verse, a psalm, a line of tradition that has carried other people through days like this one.

We built ORA because most spiritual apps treat prayer like a streak to maintain and a metric to grow. We wanted the opposite. A few minutes. A real text. A real silence. The kind of reading that does not ask anything of you except your attention.

Every note in ORA is written by hand, drawn from the Catholic spiritual tradition, and matched to the liturgical calendar and to the lived experience the day seems to call for. We do not generate reflections with AI. The work is slower than that, on purpose.

Table of Contents

What you will find in ORA.

Six pieces, in the order most people come to use them. Each one short enough to read in a coffee, long enough to remember by lunch.

I.

Daily Verse

A Scripture verse each day, chosen for the day you are living, with a short reflection drawn from the Catholic tradition. Adapted to your language. A few minutes long. Meant to be read once and carried with you.

"Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."

Matthew 4:4

II.

Sunday Gospel

Each Sunday, the Gospel of the Mass with a pastoral reflection beside it. Based on public-domain Catholic translations, Douay-Rheims, Torres Amat, Crampon, Martini, adapted for modern reading.

"The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want."

Psalm 23:1

III.

Deep Dive

An optional longer reflection, for the days you want to go further. The Scripture in its context. A line from a Church Father. The question the tradition has been asking for centuries.

"Our hearts are restless, until they rest in You."

St. Augustine, Confessions

IV.

Favorites & History

Save the notes that find you. Build a small private library of days that mattered. Re-read them on the days that follow. The app remembers, gently.

"Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

Deuteronomy 6:9

V.

Prayers & Rosary

The traditional prayers, guided. The Holy Rosary with the mysteries of the day. The saint of the day, a short life and a short prayer. For the moments you do not have the words of your own.

"Lord, teach us to pray."

Luke 11:1

VI.

In your language

English, Spanish, French, Italian, written in each language. The tone of an ORA note in Castilian is not the same as the one in French. Each reader gets the voice that sounds like home.

"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit."

1 Corinthians 12:4

"

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

A Day with ORA

The rhythm is small, and it is enough.

Four moments a day where the app quietly asks for a few minutes of your attention. No streaks. No notifications you did not ask for.

7 am

Morning

The Daily Verse, set to the hour you choose. A verse. A breath. The day begins in a different key.

12 pm

Midday

A short psalm for the lunch break. A line to carry into the second half of the working day.

6 pm

Evening

The saint of the day. A short life, a short prayer. The tradition speaking to the present hour.

9 pm

Night

An examination of conscience, gently written. Three lines to read before sleep. That is the whole practice.

Frequently asked

Questions we get often.

Is ORA an official Catholic app?

+

ORA is built within the Catholic tradition, and we have tried to read and translate carefully. The biblical passages we share come from public-domain Catholic translations, gently adapted for modern reading, close to the original, but written to be heard rather than studied. For the readings of the Mass, your parish missalette is always the right companion, and our Terms of Service has the details.

What does it cost?

+

The Daily Verse, the Sunday Gospel, the prayers, the saint of the day, multiple languages, up to two topics, and the home screen widget are free, in full, forever. A Premium subscription opens saving favorites, customising the widget (color, font, verse), and choosing more than two topics. Prices are shown in your local App Store currency.

How do I cancel?

+

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, on your device. Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → ORA Daily → Cancel Subscription. We never see your payment information, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

What do you do with my data?

+

We store the minimum needed to make the app work across your devices: your account email, the notes you have saved, and your language and topic preferences. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use any data to track you across other apps or websites. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

When does it launch?

+

ORA Daily is on the App Store in June 2026. If you would like a short note when we go live, write to us at [email protected].
