Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 7, 2026 Last Updated: June 7, 2026 Operated by: BrookMind LLC (operating as "ORA Daily")
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ORA Daily ("the Service"), provided by BrookMind LLC (operating as ORA Daily). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Overview
ORA Daily provides Catholic daily devotional content, including daily notes, reflections, Sunday Gospel readings, and related spiritual resources. The Service is designed to support personal prayer and reflection. You are responsible for lawful and appropriate use of all content.
2. Eligibility
ORA Daily is intended for users of all ages. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for supervising your child's use of the Service.
If you believe a minor is using the Service inappropriately, please contact [email protected].
3. Accounts
Maintain accurate information and protect your credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
ORA Daily offers a free tier and an optional Premium subscription. Premium features include the longer Deep Dive reflections, the full archive, and multi-device sync. Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google (Play Store). BrookMind LLC does not see or store your payment card information.
A. Subscription Renewals
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account (or Google Play account) at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Prices are displayed in your local currency at checkout and may change with at least 30 days' notice.
B. Payment Authorization
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize BrookMind LLC (ORA Daily), through Apple or Google as the payment processor, to charge your selected payment method for the total amount shown at checkout, including recurring renewals. Charges on your card or bank statement may appear as "BrookMind", "ORA Daily", or a similar descriptor. You acknowledge and accept these charges as valid and authorized.
C. Managing and Cancelling
- You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your App Store account settings at any time:
- Apple: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions (also via Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device).
- Google: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You will keep access to Premium features until that date.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
D. Refund Policy
- Refunds are handled in accordance with the applicable app store policies (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
- For issues not resolved by the app store, contact [email protected] for review.
E. Free Content
A substantial portion of ORA Daily content is available free of charge, in full and indefinitely. The Daily Note, the Sunday Gospel, the prayers, and the saint of the day are free forever. The free tier is not a time-limited trial; it is the permanent base of the Service. Certain premium features and content require an active subscription.
5. Content & Intellectual Property
A. Content Ownership
All original content provided through ORA Daily, including daily notes, reflections, and other devotional materials, is owned by or licensed to BrookMind LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may access and use this content for personal, non-commercial devotional purposes only.
B. Biblical Texts
Biblical texts used in the Service are based on public domain Catholic translations:
- English: Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible (public domain)
- Spanish: Torres Amat (public domain), adapted and modernized
- French: Crampon 1923 (public domain), adapted and modernized
- Italian: Antonio Martini (public domain), adapted and modernized
These texts have been adapted and modernized with care, for the way we read and pray today. They are offered as a devotional companion, in the Catholic tradition, meant to be carried through the day, alongside the readings of the Mass, not in place of them. For the official daily readings of the Catholic Church, your parish missalette or the Vatican website is the right resource.
C. AI-Generated Music
Some of the music and audio content available in the Service is generated, in whole or in part, using artificial intelligence tools. ORA Daily selects, edits, arranges, and compiles this music to accompany prayer and reflection within the Service.
While AI-generated recordings may not be subject to copyright protection in some jurisdictions, BrookMind LLC reserves all available rights in the selection, editing, mixing, sequencing, and compilation of this music, as well as in any human-authored elements it contains. This music is made available to you solely for personal, non-commercial devotional use within the Service.
You may not extract, download (except where the Service expressly allows it), redistribute, resell, or use this music outside the Service without the prior written consent of BrookMind LLC.
D. User Content
You retain ownership of any notes, reflections, or other content you create within the Service. You grant ORA Daily a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and process your content solely to deliver the Service (including backups and synchronization across devices).
6. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use ORA Daily to:
- Upload, share, or distribute content that violates applicable law
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Interfere with the operation of the Service
- Attempt to access another user's account without authorization
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
Violation of these restrictions may result in suspension or termination of your account.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on or interoperate with third-party services, including the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and payment processors. ORA Daily is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or compliance. Use of such third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies.
8. Health, Spiritual Content & Pastoral Disclaimer
ORA Daily provides spiritual and devotional content. It is not a substitute for professional spiritual, psychological, medical, or pastoral care. If you are facing a mental health crisis, a medical emergency, or a matter requiring the seal of Confession, please contact a qualified professional, emergency services, or a Catholic priest directly. Do not rely on the Service for these purposes.
The reflections in ORA are written by human authors drawing from the Catholic tradition. They are devotional in nature and do not constitute official Church teaching.
9. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice. We may also release new features, content, or pricing tiers. Where a change materially affects paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable advance notice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrookMind LLC, its affiliates, and employees are not liable for:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
- Unauthorized access, downtime, or deletion of content
Total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you to ORA Daily in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
11. No Warranty
ORA Daily makes no warranties regarding reliability, accuracy, availability, or suitability of content for any purpose, except as required by law. Content is provided for personal devotional use and is not a substitute for professional spiritual or pastoral guidance.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or applicable law. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account). Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to termination.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith informal negotiation by contacting [email protected]. If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue the matter in a competent court within the United States. Nothing in this section limits your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms periodically. Updated versions will be posted online with a new "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
